Genome-Guided Discovery of Nocardiopsis lopnurensis sp. nov. Reveals Genetic Traits Linked to Salt and Alkaline Adaptation

Researchers identified and characterized Nocardiopsis lopnurensis sp. nov., a novel actinomycete isolated from the saline-alkaline environment of Lop Nur, China. Comparative genomics and polyphasic taxonomy confirmed its distinct species status. Genome analyses revealed candidate genes involved in ion transport, compatible-solute metabolism, oxidative-stress protection, and pH regulation that may support adaptation to high salinity and alkalinity.
