A cross‑sectional study of SARS‑CoV‑2 patients reveals reduced gut microbial diversity, lower vitamin D, increased Enterococcus faecalis, and loss of key commensals. Functional assays show Bacteroides uniformis can modulate inflammatory responses without altering viral entry.
